Documents required for Visa :
- Original passport valid for a minimum period of three months after the expiry date of the visa (passports issued more than ten years ago are no longer accepted) * and 1 old passport if applicable plus one copy of the first and last page of the current passport. The passport should have 2 blank pages.
- Visa application form – should be filed and signed by Black pen only & block letters.
- 2 recent photographs not older than 6 months, 35mm X 45mm, white background, matt finish, not used for previous visa.
- Proof of hotel booking, (verifiable) stating the name, passport number of applicant(s) and duration of visit, physical address, as well as contact details of the hotel as well as authorized signature’s name, designation and signature;
- Confirmed Air Ticket.
- Original private bank account statement showing the turnover during the last 6 months, duly stamped and signed by the bank.
- Income Tax Returns for last 3 years.
- Marriage certificate, if the applicant’s passport is on maiden name.
- Covering letter address to – To,Visa officer, Consulate General of South Africa, Mumbai’.
- Student Id/Bonafide – if student.
pension order/retire proof – if retired.
other Cash investments like FD,PPF,Shares,Bonds,Policies,property papers.
If the applicant is employed:
o Pay Slips for last 3 months.
o Employment Contract.
o NOC for leave from employer/ school/ university clearly mentioning the name, passport number of applicant(s) and duration of visit. Letter must have the physical address, as well as contact details of authorized signature’s name, designation and signature.
If the applicant is a company owner or self-employed:
o Certificate of registration of the company + 2 Letterheads.
Documents if Visiting Friend / Family:
o Passport & Visa Copies attested by local notary/police authority.
o Invitation letter attested by local notary/police authority.
o Address proof attested by local notary/police authority.
o Last 6 months Salary slips and Bank statement- attested by local notary/police authority.

Documents required for Visa :

o Letter of invitation from the South African organizers/hosts/companies stating the name, passport number of applicant as well as purpose and duration of visit. Letter must have the physical address, as well as contact details of the host and host’s/authorized signature’s name, designation and signature (Host ID copy attested by commissioner of OATHS needs to be submitted if required by SAHC). For submissions at Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Pune and Bangalore the invitation letters must be on letterhead and attested with company seal/stamp. Also submissions at Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Pune and Bangalore must have host ID copy attested by Commissioner of Oaths/South African Police (latest 3 months).
If the applicant is employed:
o Pay Slips for last 3 months.
o Employment Contract.
If the applicant is a company owner or self-employed:
o Certificate of registration of the company + 2 Letterheads

Documents required for Visa :
- A valid passport which expires in no less than 30 days after expiry of the intended date of departure (at least Two unused/blank visa pages)
- Application for DHA-1738 completed in full with BLACK ink and signed by applicant.
- Two Photos – 35mm X 45mm, White Background, 70% face Size, matt finish, No older than 6 months
- Original covering letter signed by the applicant (should clearly mention the purpose of visit)
- Last 6 months original bank statement with healthy balance. it should be attested by bank seal and signature,
- A medical report completed on prescribed form BI- 811 (Applicable in Delhi) Medical Report issued by registered medical practioner on letterhead with regard to applicant’s general state of health. Report not older than 6 months at time of submission.
- A radiological report completed on prescribed form BI- 806 .Radiological Report issued by a registered radiologist on letterhead certifying that the applicant has been examined by him or her with regard to active pulmonary TB signs. Report not older than 6 months at time of submission. Not applicable to under 12 years and pregnant women.
- Police clearance certificates issued from regional passport office -for applicants 18 years and older
- An official letter confirming provisional acceptance or acceptance at that learning institution and the duration of the course in South Africa.
- An undertaking by the Registrar or Principal of the learning institution to-
- provide proof of registration as contemplated in the relevant legislation within 60 days of registration; or
- In the event of failure to register by the closing date, provide the Director-General with a notification of failure to register within 7 days of the closing date of registration;
- Within 30 days, notify the Director-General that the applicant is no longer registered with such institution
- Within 30 days, notify the Director-General when the applicant has completed his or her studies or requires to extend such period of study
- In the case of a learner under the age of 18 years –
- an unabridged birth certificate;
- a valid passport;
- proof of physical address and contact number of the adult person residing in the Republic, who is acting or has accepted to act as such learner’s guardian, including a confirmatory letter from that guardian; and
- proof of consent for the intended stay from both parents, or where applicable, from the parent or legal guardian who has been issued with a court order granting full or specific parental responsibilities and rights or legal guardianship of the learner
